Our wines are all handcrafted in small productions on the outskirts of Calistoga. We started out in 2007 with a delicious Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc and three luscious, layered reds, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Bee Bee's Blend, and have grown our programs steadily. We are now pleased to announce that we have added two additional Petite Sirahs to our family, the Nord Vineyard and the Vaca Mountian, as well as a Rose, Estate Port and Late Harvest dessert wine.

Envy Wines is also the home of Vine Haven which is Nils’ own label, as well as vineyard-designated Carter Cellars wines. Carter Cellars was the first collaboration that started in 1998 between Carter and Venge. Nils has had a fabulous career in the wine industry, creating classic, award-winning wines for three decades. In fact Robert Parker, Jr. gave Nil's Groth Vineyards and Winery 1985 Reserve Cabernet a perfect score of '100' establishing Nils as a fantastic and talented winemaker early in his career. He continues the tradition for Carter Cellars, as Wine Spectator Magazine has recently recognized this wine as one of the top 10 best up and coming Cabernets in California and top wines to buy as well.

The wine speaks to the olfactory system with whispers of perfume and valleys filled with wild flowers. On the palate this Sauvignon Blanc introduces itself with notes of freshly picked Asian Pear; flavors of sliced apricots and a drizzle of honey soon follow while notes of slightly sweetened vanilla round out the finish. ~ SOLD OUT!

Bee Bee’s Blend was first created by Nils Venge in 2005 and it continues to please the crowd every vintage! Bee Bee’s Blend is fun loving and marries together our estate Cabernet, Merlot and Petite Sirah grapes, and wafts of cherries, chocolate covered raisins and strawberries n’ cream. The complex array of flavors builds anticipation with notes of freshly picked blackberries, essence of red raspberries, cinnamon, anise and toasted hazel nuts. The experience is completed with a dry but easy drinking finish.

Envy’s Estate Cabernet is a sensory experience, beginning on the nose with the aromas of dark berries, sugar and spice, luscious cocoa, sweet vanilla and a hint of cinnamon stick. The Cabernet is a delicate balance of flavors with lush cherry and plums dancing on your tongue. The finish folds into silky layers of tasty walnuts and a touch of holiday spices, ending with soft mellow tannins.

Our dark velvety Estate Merlot smells of red fruit compote, cocao nibs and a light toasty aroma from the state. On the palate prepare to be delighted with plum and chocolate covered black cherries followed by a rich and subtle oaky toastiness. The dry finish lingers with hints of cherry cola and will remind you of your last great kiss!

This voluptuous wine has lots of fruit aromas, blueberry, blackberry and black cherry with underlying hints of cola. This Petite Sirah explodes with fruit on the palate and finishes with soft tannins and a touch of vanilla and milk chocolate.

The 2008 Petite Sirah Vaca Vineyard from the Chiles Valley in the eastern sector of Napa tastes jammy and fresh with flora aroma of ripe black cherry and blueberry.  On the palate, full bodied and chewy with black pepper and spices.

A big, flowery, jammy wine, it exhibits lots of blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with notes of incense and flowers. It is a massive, huge, impressively endowed, very promising effort.

Envy's Late Harvest is a luxuriously indulgent experience. This dessert wine is delicately balanced between lush sweetness and a superbly lifted, elegant finish. Mouth-coating flavors spring forward and unfold in layers of toasted pistachios drenched in honey, perfectly ripe peaches and juicy sliced fresh apricot. ~ SOLD OUT!
